This is a beautiful book to share with everyone. It is full of easy to understand information for children to learn about their own mob and other mobs, and for non-Aboriginal.children to learn about the diffferent nations. This book is just beautiful. It’s so well written and the illustration is gorgeous. It’s got so much amazing information and dialect in it. When our arrived I read it to my husband in my “preschool” voice so he got the full experience. I can’t wait to read it to the children at work! We are on Darkinjung land so it was nice to see “yaama” in the book too.
This has now become my all time very favourite book to read with my bush kindy kids!!
There are so many wonderful learning extension possibilities! This book needs to be in every early learning service and primary school in Australia, it’s such a valuable resource!
I really hope there are more of these books to come, the possibilities are endless!!
What a stunning book – the art work is amazing and the text is simplistic, informative and evocative. The use of dialect, along with information, makes it a valuable teaching resource that all students should read. This is a story of the ages for all ages – it will make our country a better nation. Can’t wait to get a class set!
